PDT lab on Tuesday.
Experimenting at home again.
But i am not confident at all this time.
Not sure which recipe to use yet and no more ordering of ingredient can be done.
I am so stressed till i feel like crying!
Difficult lecturer to be pleased this time :'(

Finally, i tried this best-seller!
Pecan flavoured ice-cream with almond and chocolate sauce.
Still think that hazelnut ganache and chocolate obsession are still the best so far.

Cooking for real



Second PDT lab!
Cooking for real this time.

Since my group is the only one with three members, we were required to prepare dinner and a snack.
My case was about a busy university student who is currently staying in hostel. She has normal BMI but was overweight before this. So, she intended to achieve the ideal body weight for her height. We were required to plan a dinner which she'll be able to cook it at the hostel. She has a muti-cooker but not a fridge. Our budget for dinner is RM6 and for snack is RM4.
After assessing her case and did A LOT of calculations including her calorie needed using various formulae, her usual calorie and macronutrients intake, recommended calorie and macronutrients intake for her, we came up with this menu for dinner and snack.



For dinner:
Telur goreng kacang buncis, ABC soup, apple and plain water.


Looked like there were more ingredients than water.


This is kacang buncis! I mistaken kacang botor for kacang buncis. And i experimented at home using kacang botor -.-


Minum petang:
Milo kosong and cream cracker biscuits.
Well, supposed to serve three square pieces of cream crackers but the lab assistant got the wrong one so we removed the cream and served six small pieces as one exchange of CHO.


Next lab, we're going western!
We're supposed to cook for Mr. John, a Caucasian.

TGIF Night!

Weekend is the only driving force to get me through the week.
Cause i'll be coming home! #foreverhomesick
He came and fetch me at four something and we reached Kajang at nine after dinner.
Feel really bad everytime he has to come all the way to fetch me although people say that's what boyfriends are for.
As usual, my mind is all about food when i am at hostel.
Sudden craving for tomyam although i am refraining myself from eating it because my stomach just couldn't tolerate it.
But it was months ago since i last had one..


So, we had tomyam! x) 
Super oily and the bihun was soaked for too long and it's extremely soft already.


He had satay. Worst satay and kuah ever he said. Sate Kajang la the best. Aiyo.


Always look so tired on a Friday night :(

First PDT lab

With our aprons and hairnets on, we endured seven hours of PDT lab.
First lab and supposed to be the easiest yet it took us seven solid hours.

The objectives of this lab are:
  • to see how will the household measurements be like for 15g CHO of certain foods. 7g of protein and 5g of fat. Cause that will be one exchange of each macronutrients respectively.
  • how much of other nutrients contained in that food for 15g portion of CHO and etc.
  • what are the nutrient contents for one serving of the foods.



I couldn't imagine how will the following labs be like :(
We were so hungry. I was so cold :'(
Foods were right in front of us but they were inedible anymore.





My group was supposed to measure sauces and food high in salt.


Using household measurements..


And to compare the degree of sweetness of cafe's teh "O" with these.


Nescafe's too.


First cooking lab that starved us.
So not looking forward to the next one where i'll have to cook,
and prepare everything from the start till the very end :(

Pork and beer!

I spent another day having fun.
So, i woke up early in the morning to do one of my many assignments.
I am going to say this again to make myself feel better.
Late lunch/ early dinner at Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant at Midvalley.
Saw the deal on Groupon and i caught myself thinking that dad must love this!
Wanted to book to dine in a day before sis leaves for Sabah but booking was full.
Ended up having this when another sis came back from Kuala Pilah.
Indulging ourselves with pork and beer!
The foods weren't as good as they look.
I didn't like them except for the spicy chicken sausage and bacon.
The beers, boyfie and dad said they are actually not bad.
The Germans might love them more!

Shopped for my flats after that.
He bought me ice-cream as promised :D
My favourite food in the shape of his favouritest animal.
Second round at TTK Bak Keh because mum said she wanna eat rice. Typical chinese.
This is the first time ever boyfie is joining us for a meal. Two meals actually. In a day :D


"Brotzeit" is a typical Bavarians expression - "Brot" being German for bread and "Zeit" for time - referring to a small meal or snack accompanied by bier.
Nice place to dine in. The lunch sets are actually quite cheap.


Dad wanted the deal with BEERS.


Awkward moment. First time ever he's eating with us.


Paulaner Original Munchner Dunkel, Paulaner Hefe - Weissbier, Paulaner Original Munchner Urtyp and Paulaner Hefe - Weissbier Dunkel. The names are all jumbled up -.-


Dad stomached almost RM100 of biers yesterday!


Not my cup of tea.


Bavarian Pork Platter - 1.4kg pork knuckle, 650g grilled marinated pork steaks, 650g roasted pork loins, Gypsy pork belly and spicy chicken sausages served with potato salad and braised German cabbage.


Potato salad. Doesn't the vege looks like a witch on a flying broom?

This white thing is called Snow White from Black Forest Cake House.
Raspberry sauce with raspberry chunks in between two chiffon cake topped with cream and wrapped in a thin layer of mochi.
