I am not a fish

But today i am filled to the gill.

I'll pretend that i wrote this on Thursday although i am writing now and it's Friday. Something is wrong on the time setting and i am never bothered to correct it.

Sisters' day out to Midvalley, but first, lemme tell my story about yesterday (Wednesday).
I wanted to go to Connaught pasar malam at least once before uni reopens (in less than two weeks time). So bf suggested us to go this week. Or maybe we're gonna go on both weeks. Haha. I think he was supposed to work overtime but he declined. I know he's making effort to make time for us. For that, i thank you.

My two must-have(s), peanut butter chicken floss crepe and passion fruit drink. Tomyam was the third but was out of the list long ago due to my stomach condition. He, on the other hand, was craving for fried food. So he had stinky tofu (his must-have) and Uncle Bob's fried chicken chop. Blame the work-stress. I wanted to try the ever so famous flower pot ice-cream but you know what, i felt so grown up because i was not cheated by the gimmick of a pot of ice-cream that resembles a flower pot where people are more interested by the soil rather than the flowers. I never love flowers though (except daisies). I still love ice-cream nevertheless, so we had Polar Bear strawberry yogurt soft serve. Polar Bear serves a variety of ice-cream choices such as matcha, lavender, black sesame, raisin, etc. but only two flavours a week. Strawberry yogurt is their static menu and flavour of the week is black sesame. Next week is matcha! I would like to try the lavender one though.

Must-have.

Strawberry yogurt soft serve.

Chew chew's stinky tofu. I wonder why people love stinky tofu.

Taiwan sausage in a wu gok. Bought home for sis and bro.
The uncle who sells this actually sells lao sha bao too. Both steamed and fried! I've always wanted to try the fried one.Why did i say NO? Why?

----------------- ****** -----------------

On Thursday, it was an impromptu outing. I only decided to join them in the morning itself. They watched Cafe. Waiting. Love. (等一个人咖啡). Sis had been going on and on about it but i don't love coffee. I had the lowest caffeine tolerance. And i am not a big fan of love story (Jom, Annabelle~) haha. Shopped around and had lunch alone while waiting for their to end. I waited for at least 30 minutes. I was eating my food as slow as possible. Plus i requested for a table for three and i was given one for four. I was constantly checking out and making sure that there's empty table available everytime someone walks in. Guilty for taking up so much space in a normally crowded cafe but thank goodness it wasn't yesterday. Or else i was already ready to give up my table. We had so much fun eating, chatting, shopping, trying out clothes and buying yesterday. The highlight of the day was meeting 洁莹! Sis spotted her at the cinema buying tickets with Danny and 雪芬. Sis were still queuing by the time they were done. Luckily, just so lucky they went for popcorn. So, dengan muka tebalnya, we asked for a photo each with her. I thought the three of them will come but maybe the two are already used to the higher popularity 洁莹 owns? 雪芬, i wanted a photo with you too actually, seriously. 洁莹 was so nice, polite and all smiling :)
Thanks to all the good time we had, we were stuffed and broke now. There were only coins left in purse at the end of the day. Ohhh, i am so broke man T_T

We were like three dinosaurs. Breakfast at home, they had cheesy wedges and mashed potato in the cinema while i was walking around munching on tidbits. Then i had lunch at Nana's and they joined me later for parfait. Together we had desserts at T&Co. Before heading home, we tapao Tai Lei Loi Kei's pork polo bun and Roti Boy. Bought Japanese mooncakes from Komugi for bf's fam too. Three tummies with three black holes. I was pretty left with the nausea feeling till the next morning. It's gross and freaking uncomfortable. I vowed to repent but i never did. I shall just hashtag all my food pictures #fatandunrepentant

赵洁莹! We were kinda starstruck. Sis has always been a fan of hers. Sorry Danny and 雪芬, i cropped your sexy backs out. We are not thick-skinned enough to ask for more pictures :(

Lunch alone but i occupied a table for four.

Chicken cutlet curry. Yums.

Matcha latte. Still as good as the very first glass we had.

Matcha "Gateaux Chocolat" Parfait
An artisan dessert starting with a layer of Kanten jelly and matcha syrup then topped with soft serve vanilla ice-cream, generous layer of cornflakes and garnished with a matcha ice-cream, matcha gateaux chocolate cake, red bean paste, whipped cream and a drizzle of matcha syrup.

The gateaux (meaning cake in French, i think?) is very dense and kinda hard. Dare to try this because cousin said the cake tasted like ice-cream cake. Hng. Ahhh, my nama chocolat :( So tempted to order it again.

Iced Big T's Luxe Chocolate and fudgy brownie cake (it's warmed before served).

It's fluffier than normal brownie, thus the name "brownie cake" i supposed.

We love the fudge more than everything else.

It's tough to even fit two people in. How do people include so many in a wefie?

Used timer to take this at a alley where passer-by kept passing by. The timer sounded like a bomb timer to me *embarassed shit*

O-Tsukimi. Japanese mooncake. The crust is actually Baum.

From top left, clockwise.
  1. | Raspberry | (Raspberry chocolate ganache with toasted almond bits, soft mochi and candied orange "egg yolk")
  2. | Matcha | (Matcha chocolate ganache with Azuki red bean, soft mochi and candied orange "egg yolk")
  3. | Mango Coconut | (Mango coconut chocolate ganache with sunflower seed (kuaci),  soft mochi and candied orange "egg yolk")
  4. | Black sesame | (Black sesame chocolate ganache with sunflower seed (kuaci),  soft mochi and candied orange "egg yolk")

See, i came back for more. They are actually not bad.

Cut my fringe like two-three days ago and i felt that it has grown so much already.
Is this normal? -_-

A prompt

A prompt is a cue that gives forgetful actors a hint for their next line, or students the topic of the essay they will write. It can also be the act of inspiring action, like your letter to the editor that prompts others to join your cause. When you prompt someone, you might offer a reminder, some assistance, or even inspiration to do something. When you prompt someone, you expect action now.

I learnt this about guys. They find it so hard to understand what women want. But women want to be understood. Thus, women always have to ask if they want something. That makes women demanding. Or they can keep things to themselves and get ready to be disappointed. In which, giving men all the reasons to say, "You never ask." Best of all is to expect nothing.

Homemade breakfast when i least expected it before our foodie outing.
Kok Wai-styled French toast. Super thick peanut butter spread and extra egg coating (two eggs).
I prompted him but being demanding is the last thing i wanna be.

Saturday became our paktor day. Saturdays where he doesn't need to work OT. It's so hard to find time to spend together after he started working. Never know it'd be this hard. It surely takes a lot more efforts to maintain a relationship once i started my new semester too. Busyness and tiredness are our two enemies.

Visited The Redbean Bag and Mad About Coco this Saturday to compensate the previous Saturday where he ditched me for work. Haha.

Skyscraper at RM17.
Stacks of fluffy pancakes, drizzled with Canadian maple syrup & dark chocolate sauce, served with caramelised fruits.
I love this. The fluffy pancakes are really fluffy. Bf loves the pancakes too. He said the flavour was good even without the maple syrup and chocolate sauce.

Crustacean Cousin at RM29.
Tiger prawns, scallop & Australian baby spinach served with freshly pressed Tagliolini pasta.
Love this too. The seafood broth has a real umami taste to it.

Homemade lemonade at RM10.
I think this is the most calorie dense lemonade ever. Lemon juice with Sprite/7 Up. I think i can easily make it at home too. Bf loves it though saying it's refreshing.

Must take a picture cause i'm not going back for more. Lol.

MAD About Coco at RM20.
How do you eat this? Pour the warm chocolate in the jar over the cake. The chocolate thin on top will melt and leave a hole in the middle of the cake (the cake has a hollow center). The idea came from a fondant cake i supposed. Not going back for more. I prefer a traditional fondant cake *indicating the one at Pastis (cheap and good)* I had a failed video on this cause my chocolate had cooled off already, the hole wasn't that obvious.

Give me that shirt. I want.

Hot chocolate (dark chocolate buttons) at RM12.
Not rich enough. We were not blown off. I still think the one at Le Moon is the best hot chocolate i've tasted so far.

Selfie with his Mi3.

Selfie.

I will caption this "Jealous of my six packs?"

He's in the mood for selfie that day.

But i got irritable cause i was hot and sweating already. All because of the hot chocolate.

I forced this picture. Haha. On the way to the washroom.

Nasi lemak Kelante. We both have a favourite nasi lemak near our respective home.

Greek Yogurt | Granola | Blueberry | Banana

Banana blueberry yogurt parfrait in a Mason jar :)
Just something i made at home the day before.

The GREEK YOGURT tasted terrible. I almost puked. Must try this again with another type of yogurt. Cannot let my perfect expectation shattered.

PD trip

On 24th July, sis and i went on trip to Port Dickson with aunt and family. I remember the date so well because it's the exact date we're supposed to submit our hardcover. If you think the nightmare is finally over, you're so damn wrong.

Anyway, it was great time spent. We stayed in a family suite at Grand Lexis and we had a private swimming pool all to ourselves. How good was that. Very good. Haha. We had homemade coleslaw (aunt makes the best coleslaw), sausages and all sorts of snacks for lunch. Dinner we had KFC and a swim under the moonlight. The bathroom was a bit insecure though. There was this door opening to the cupboard outside and the mirror, you can actually open it and taadaa, the pool comes into view.

I'll start with the entrance.

The private pool!

More pictures of the pool. Looks spacious here but it's kinda cramped if..

Four adults trying to get it.

Drinking milk like a boss.

A big happy family.

The view around the area.

The twins and sis.

Having the public pool all to themselves too since it's so deserted. The period just before Raya is the best time to plan your vacation.

The twins and mum at the beach.

What kinda of face is that? =|

Happy only when they got the all the handphones -_-

Had the world's tastiest curry chicken bun and some other dishes for lunch on the way back. This is really the best. I couldn't stop eating even though i was already stuffed. So yummy we even bought one home.

Family and Food

Food hunt with family is more restricted to Puchong area cause dad just couldn't get enough of his Donutes coffee and it's been like drug to him. So, on Sunday for the past four to five weeks, we've been to Puchong for dimsum and his coffee.

Harold's Bread at Puchong Jaya
This bakery/cafe is located right opposite Donutes. Donutes was full house. Dad had to get his coffee fix for the day. We came all the way from Sg. Chua. We can't head home just like that, can we? Tried out this cafe like finally. Heehe. Turned out to be good too. I love the cronuts! I want another visit please.

HAZELNUT ROYALTINE.
Chocolate deco, chocolate glaze, chocolate baravois, almond nibs, hazelnut cream, royaltine, tart crust.

Apple danish pastry, green tea red bean bun, assorted cronuts.

Harold's coffee. Also a very good coffee. Smooth but too sweet.

Dad wanted to bring the family to Setia Walk since they've never been there before. My third visit.

Visited the Grand Shanghai Food Expo. Second time for me.

90% of photos taken were my mum's. Like usual.

Candid shot by sis.

This picture has a story.

We tried a couple of times with different settings but dad always got embarassed and left. Lol.

Edited using Giddylizer.

Stephen Chow's porridge?

Ah ah, just craving for the bak kut teh above. Haha.

Photobombed by aunties. I have to include them in my editing.
Theme: Grand Shanghai in LA. Wth.

Went back Kajang to have lunch with sis who was working even on Sundays.
This is Uncle Jack's shell curry chicken puffs. Crunchy crust yums.

And the white dark chocolate cheesecake i had the next Monday.

Raya food hunt
One Monday, a friend of mum bought Portuguese egg tarts back from Puchong. Mum couldn't remember the name of the restaurant well and didn't get the direction right. We couldn't find the restaurant after rounding the area for three times. The tart was so yummy. That same day, I was browsing through my Instagram and saw a picture of a table full of dim sum. I spotted Portuguese egg tarts. Wala! I'm so going there. It turned out to be the right restaurant. It's Foo Hing Dim Sum Restaurant at Bandar Puteri. We didn't try their dim sum for the first visit. Just went there to tapao the egg tarts.

Had breakfast at Jin Xuan because dad was craving for theseee.

澳门葡撻
Portugese egg tarts. I tasted butter in the egg.

Headed to IOI Mall and had my soy ice-cream.

Had tomyam bihun at Hailam Kopitiam for dinner on the next day. Was accompanying sis for dinner break.

Foo Hing Dim Sum at Bandar Puteri
That Sunday, or the next Sunday (Raya food hunt fell on Thursday) we went there again for their dim sum. Lunch for four~ The loh mai kai, dumpling, fried yam & nin gou were my favourites. Dad totally enjoyed the char siew bao. The next Sunday, we had brunch there again since bro and sis were not with us for the first time.

Delights.

Dried scallop sauce.

Dumplings.

Scallops.

Crabmeat siu mai.

Fried nin gou & yam.

Two of my favs, combined and fried!

Must-have. Lao sha bao. I felt that this is the least tasty and also the smallest in size among the three dim sum restaurants i used to go.

Yao sik yao ling. In Cantonese.

Tried different dishes. Fried carrot cake. Every dim sum restaurant made this so yummy.

Wu gok. Fried yam with meat filling.

I didn't know what is this called. Looked ugly too. But the sauce is yums.

Fish paste with beancurd wrap.

Abalone siu mai.

Dumplings.

鱼翅灌汤饺 | Superior dumpling soup at RM10.

原盅灌汤饺 | Super superior dumpling soup at RM10.

This time we only had these there.

I was so not satisfied. Look, the skin was so thick.

The size is already so small. Hng.

We went Setia Walk again cause sis was not with us the last time we went.
Dad was trying to take a picture of us.

All blurry shots.

Matching shirt and umbrella. Haha.

经典名曲歌唱大赛?

With disco ball and a red rose and also some sparks. Haha.

Finally tried this. Tasted artificial at the first sip but i'm loving it from the second sip onwards. Too pricey though.

The supper we have almost every Thursday at home. Sago lolo from pasar malam.

All flavours are yummy. The corn is mine. I'm obsessed with corn. Kinda.
