Chew Chew Chow Tofu!

It's the 8th of August. Instead of getting our free scoop of BR ice-cream, we went Connaught night market for some fermented tofu =D Fermented tofu a.k.a stinky tofu is a famous street hawker stall food in Hong Kong alongside with curry fish balls and hong kong style waffle (gai dan zai). Kok Wai tried the curry fish balls too but he said it wasn't nice. Well, fish balls never attract me anyway. Can't help but dislike the texture of fishballs! Heard good feedback about the one in HK from Ian. Gotta try them all when i go HK! One day..haha.

The two of us, we ate a lot! All greasy oily stuffs =/
  • Fried koay tew (we were expecting something better cause it was recommended by a friend but we couldn't figure out which stall it is cause there are so many of them! Gonna try the one with duck egg next time =D Tried the one at Kuchai Lama, it was indeed better tasting than the normal one. Higher in cholesterol level too! Health-conscious me~)
  • Curry fish balls (he tried it cause i was uninterested at all and it wasn't as good as he's expected. Told ya! He was hoping it to taste better cause his buddy Ian said the one in HK tasted fantastic i guess? But hey, this is Malaysia you know =p)
  • Chew Chew Chow Tofu (yes, we need to queue for it. We were there early so we didn't wait for that long. The street was still pretty uncrowded yet. But hey, the queue was even shorter when we past by there on our way back. Maybe people went to queue for BR instead? Kok Wai seems to love it since he devoured six pieces out of eight all by himself but i felt that it was nothing special. He said he was expecting me to ask for more after the first. It should be addictive. I prefer normal deep fried tofu more actually. Haha~)
  • Tom yam bihun (taste so good! xp This is the reason i wanted to go anyway. So satisfied with the tom yam. Just that we need to wait so long for it and i am hungry! Me love tom yam  a lot and this is definitely one of the best that i've tried so far =) He agrees with me~)
  • Fried yam with taiwan sausages (the additional taiwan sausages were the selling point i guess compared to normal fried yam that you can get anywhere. Looks very tempting indeed. It was good actually but way way way too oily. One bite and your whole lips are greasy all over =/ One bite of the taiwan sausage and the smell of it filled the whole car. The smell stayed overnight. It's a good thing i think? Since it smells good to me. Ha~)
  • Herbal tea and passion fruit drink with ai jelly and sour plum (love the passion fruit! Sour and sweet, the best combination. Very refreshing. Healthy too! xD Worth a try although it's slightly more expensive than the other drinks available. Give it a try and you'd love it! =D)

No peanut butter crepe for me tonight cause the uncle wasn't there =( Past by the crepe truck but we didn't buy it cause i am a loyal customer. Lolol =p I love trying out new food but once i found one that serves good food i'll stick to what's good ;) There are still so many new and interesting foods there that i feel like trying just that my stomach doesn't allow me to do so =.= Nevermind, next time maybe!

Chew Chew Chow Tofu! I prefer normal tofu more =/

The picture of curry fish balls i found online.

Gai dan zai. I want a bite! Every HK drama shows this right?

Scrumptious tom yam that i've been craving for!

Refreshing passion fruit drink. It's delicious and it's good for health too. So why not? =p

Fried yam with taiwan sausage. It was nice but way too oily! No second try i guess?

I think, a trip to the night market is more fun if there are more people.
