UKM IV 2012

UKM IV 2012. This was where i was missing in action for the past four days and three nights. UKM Intervarsity is a debate tournament held annually which gathers debaters from all over Malaysia and Singapore. Me in such event, it's a rare occurrence like seriously. Rarer than diamond. I was roped in by Siew Wen to substitute Yun Hua's place. Basically what we're supposed to do were:

1. Be a runner. Passing scoresheets and papers.
2. Get the room ready. The table and everything will be set up on 2nd August, so on that day we just need to make sure every table have enough paper, pencil and drinks/sweets(if there is any).
3. Be the timer. You need to time the debater's speech. Clap once at the 1st minute, once at the 6th minute, twice at 7th minute and clap continuously until they stop talking when it reach 7 minutes 20 seconds. 
4. Help to distribute the T-shirt. 
5. Help in food and guiding the participants to their places, eg: debate room or their bus pickup point or hostel.

In short, we are the do-it-all helpers. Yes, every single thing that requires strength and patience and well, more strength and patience. Cause we're lacking of manpower. We just need to do everything! Arranging the freaking heavy tables and chairs, carrying boxes of mineral water and enormous plastic bags of T-shirts, shifting tables from the fifth floor, cleaning the convening hall, rooms and walkway, passing scoresheets and adjucts feedback forms, more cleaning and running. Oh ya, we were the Running Man for the event. Hmm, what did i miss? Anyway, to be clear, we were the kulisssssss wth! If it's not for the sake HC, ya'll have been cursed to death. LOL just kidding~ But you know what, i missed my badminton matches just for this! We were dead tired. Like exhausted. Big time! Despite that, looking from the positive side, it was actually a very good and rare experience for us. We've learnt a lot! And those debaters were just brilliant. Knowledgeable and well, great! One more thing, they are all so polite. Yeah yeah me like polite people =D Opps, i forgot to take picture of the T-shirts! There are two versions of it. Black and white. The rebel and the peacekeeper.

The debate was held at the Faculty of Social Science and Humanity.

The collage we stayed in for four days and three nights. There are monkeys!

And of course, Kok Wai took me to have good food after i was released from "jail" =p Went back just in time for Olympics Men Single final! Lee Chong Wei vs Lindan. 21-14, 10-21, 19-21. Gosh, that was so close. We lost again! I feel so sad for Dato' Lee! Don't cry don't cry, i still love you~ Team China bagged five golds again! Damn you Lindan. Damn you Li Yongbo x 100000000 times -.-
